Lucas Glover has long reminisced about his trips to the Masters as a youngster with his grandfather which is why every time he tees it up in the first major of the year, it is more than just simply competing on one of golf's grandest stages.
The Greenville native and former Clemson All-American can now plan on being a part of the 2025 Masters. Glover headlined a group of nine golfers who were added to the field this week, based on the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR).
One of the paths to a golfer receiving an invitation to the Masters is finishing in the top 50 of the OWGR at the end of the year. When the final ranking was unveiled this week, Glover was sitting on the number at #50. He had slipped to #51 earlier this month after a T30 at the RSM Classic.
But the ranking is based on a two-year period and when that final ranking was unveiled, Glover had done just enough to warrant another April adventure in Augusta.
Glover's best finish at the Masters is a tie for 20th which he posted in 2007 and matched in 2024. The 2009 U.S. Open champion will have plenty of chances to improve his OWGR when a new season on the PGA Tour begins in January. But regardless, Glover will begin the new season knowing he will once again compete in his favorite tournament.
